There is a Registered Nurse (RN) on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to this RN, our Director of Clinical Services and two Associate Directors of Clinical Services are registered staff and work on weekdays.

Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) work various shifts and assist as charge nurses and coordinate the administration of medications and oversee all treatments.

Staffing ratios also vary by unit as consideration is given to the needs of the residents living in each resident home area .

3. How long has Copper Terrace been operating?
Copper Terrace has a long history within the Chatham community. Our building began as the head office of a local sugar beet factory. The space was renovated to become a nursing home in 1968. After numerous renovations and additions, it became the larger long-term care home you see today, with numerous amenities and features.

The name Copper Terrace was selected due to the beautiful large copper beech trees that grow along our front lawn on Tecumseh Road.

Copper Terrace is one of five long-term care homes owned and operated by APANS Health Services based in London, Ontario.
